October is here and once again, the Gastronomic Days of "art" fishing style in Lloret. This year we already celebrate the ninth edition of these Days, taking place between the 1st and 31st of this month.

From Hotel Acapulco blog we want to explain you what does it mean this "art" fishing style, and recommend you some specialities you can find between the 26 restaurants of Lloret participating in these Days.

What does it mean "art" fishing style? We are talking about an ancient style of fishing, now a disuse style, consisting and throwing the nets close to the coast, and after waiting some time, the dragged the net to the coast again, and all the fish the net found was dragged also, where people took it to eat. This technique has become a symbol of Lloret.

This style was finished during the seventies, because the coast was damaged, they dragged all kind of fish, big and small, edible or not and farming and because it was changed by other techniques more modern, but Lloret has mantained this tradition organising two times per year a popular "art" net throwing at the Lloret's beach. The event, hosted by Xino-Xano association, celebrates that livelihood which made a lot families survive for a long time. After recovering the fish everyone can eat the fish roasted at the same beach.

The Days of "art" cooking are also a tribute to that technique, and a total of 26 restaurants offer their menus during this October with prices going from 22 Euros to 78.84 Euros per person, depending on the restaurant and the menu.

Between the offerings, you can taste traditional ones, like "cim i tomba" or fillet of market fish with mariner juice, but also modern, like tataki of tuna or bloody mary of wasabi with cockles. The choice, modern or traditional, is yours, but you will be satisfied with it, because it's worth to taste our fish.
